Year 13 Student Finance Evening – Tues 28th Feb – 7pm at Clarendon

February 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

Now that the UCAS procedure is well underway and offers have started to come in, we would like to hold a meeting to inform you about the next step regarding the application for finance. As we are working in conjunction with Clarendon Academy, this event will be held there.

I would like to invite parents and students to an information evening so that you can find out about finance and can provide support and advice to your son or daughter. The event will be held over that The Adrian Green Centre, which is part of the Clarendon Academy Sixth Form block, on Tuesday 28th February, at 7pm. We will make sure that this is clearly signposted.

There will be a speaker from Bath University, to make a presentation to you. During the evening they will outline the issues involved in finalising decisions, the clearing process, finance issues and be able to answer any questions you may have.

You can already start applying for student finance for University. Applications are made online through the www.gov.uk website. New applications need to be received before the 26th May 2017 in order to guarantee the money is available at the start of term. Students do not need to have accepted a university or college place on order to apply.

Please complete the reply slip and return it to Mrs Smallbone in the Sixth Form Office at The John of Gaunt School by Friday 24th February.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely

Ms L Brunt
