The John of Gaunt School canteen provides ‘In-House Catering’ managed by Nicola and her team of experienced catering assistants. EAT OUT EAT WELL GOLD AWARD
The award is assessed and managed by Wiltshire Council Public Protection Service. It is open to all types of food outlets catering for the general public. This includes restaurants, cafes, canteens and takeaway outlets in Wiltshire. It has three levels – bronze, silver and gold.
While being assessed, our menus were inspected. They looked at the variety of food on offer, our cooking methods and our option of healthy choices and how we promote these.
The John of Gaunt School canteen was awarded the highest level of Gold due to our varied menu which includes a good variety of foods including fresh meat, fresh vegetables, pulses and whole grains. We only have chips once a week and offer healthy options such as jacket potatoes, pasta plates and salads every day. Fresh, dried and fruit salads are also available.
