Information Governance (GDPR)
The John of Gaunt School’s GDPR (New Data Protection Regulation) Resources Area
What is GDPR?
GDPR is the ‘General Data Protection Regulation’ – a change in law that will be coming into force from May 2018 (replacing current Data Protection Act 1998 which will be abolished). GDPR is a Europe-wide law designed to improve and strengthen the way in which personal data is processed. It will not be affected by Britain’s plans to leave the EU.
The change will mean that anyone who processes personal or sensitive data needs to make sure they are meeting key guidelines to protect data.
