Sixth form work experience guidance

All students in Year 12 undertake a week of work experience in term six. The placement is organised by the students in order that it can be tailored to future career aspirations. Students go to a range of work settings, some recent examples have included primary schools, hospitals, local businesses and the volunteer sector. The arrangements for this are overseen by Mrs E Baldwin.
On top of this some students will do work experience as part of their course. Every year a number of students also identify time on their timetable that they will dedicate to a regular work experience placement throughout the year.

Some UCAS applications such as teaching and medicine will demand work experience as part of the application.

We thoroughly support work experience and the invaluable skills that students get out of this in order to support their future applications whether they be employment or university.
