Important notice for students sitting the Health and Social Care Exam on Friday 1st February in case of bad weather
As this is an external exam, it cannot be rearranged. The Awarding Body determine the timetable and this exam must take place at the same time across the country. They will not rearrange this exam.
Pearson Edexcel sent the following message yesterday :-
It is imperative that, despite the weather conditions, every effort is made to enable and encourage learners to sit the task as planned. To ensure the integrity of the assessment for all learners, it is not permitted for it to be sat outside of the timetabled period (01/02/2019 am).
As such, any students due to sit this exam who can get to school safely will be expected to do so, even if the rest of the school has been forced to close. If this situation arises, access to the school site will be through the Wingfield entrance and students are advised to wear appropriate footwear and warm clothing. The exam may have to be moved to Wingfield Hall, so please check for notifications on arrival at school.
We anticipate that school will be open as normal and that the exam will take place in Mackereth as planned. The above arrangements have been put in place just in case this is not possible.
