Year 7s visit to Longleat
On Thursday, 85 pupils had an exciting trip to Longleat as part of their activities week. Setting off in the morning the first stop was the African village where there were lemurs, giraffe, zebra and black wilder beast among other animals to observe close up. This was followed by a wonderful tour of the safari with our guide Steve. We were lucky enough to have some wonderful views of the lions, ostriches and red deer as well as being able to appreciate the astonishing camouflage of the grey wolf and their cubs.
A quick stop for lunch and the pupils had the opportunity to explore the park, with some even having the opportunity to hold a tarantula (including a very brave Mrs Stewart)! As well as koalas, otters, parrots, butterflies, marmosets, meerkats, mara, anteaters and many other beautiful animals there was an opportunity to ride the boat on the lake to see the gorillas, hippos and most importantly, to feed the sea lions. All in all a great day out thanks to wonderful organisation from Mrs Simmonds.
Thanks to Miss Ambrose, Mrs Hickey, Miss Lanng, Mr Lear, Mrs Stewart for all helping to run the trip!
