The Expressive Arts Faculty Academy Awards

On Tuesday 19th November The Expressive Arts Faculty hosted its annual Academy Awards evening. The presentation evening recognised outstanding achievement, commitment and effort in Art, Drama and Music for students studying from KS3 through to A Level. Thirty-five students were nominated for various awards. Everyone attending the evening was dressed in their finery.

As well as the awards there was a range of music to entertain the audience. Noah Heard returned to sing Empty Chairs and Empty Tables from Les Miserables, Luka Reeves (Year 13) performed The River Flows in You by Yiruma on the piano and John Hudson and Malakai Patterson (Year 10) performed an Oasis tribute on drum kit and electric guitar.

The evening culminated in the presentation of the highest achieving award, ‘The Faculty Fellowship Award’, which went to Luka Reeves who not only studies subjects within the faculty but gives many hours outside of lessons to school shows, concerts and events and has been doing so since she was in year 7. We are now on the look-out for students to nominate for next year…could it be you!?

Well done again to all the nominees and winners!
