Easter Revision Sessions for Students in Years 11, 12 and 13

In order to support students in their preparation for mocks in subjects where they would have had an external exam, we are offering a number of revision sessions this Easter.  The forthcoming mocks will provide evidence for their teacher assessed grades. 

All students have been emailed the schedule - a summary of which is given below:

The Easter holiday payments/vouchers will be paid to FSM students as follows:

Free school meals payment/voucher:  £30

Covid Winter Grant Scheme – additional payment/voucher to be used for food or fuel:  £29

Total payment/voucher:  £59

Payments will be processed and vouchers posted early next week to reach parents by Thursday 1 April.

Year 7 Awards: 300 points and counting

Our first student to reach 300 points is Charlotte Watts. Her effort and engagement are consistently fantastic across the curriculum. Well done Charlotte!

Congratulations also to Holly Jones and Lucy Martin who have achieved their silver certificate in the last two weeks and to the following for getting their Bronze Award:

Tyler M, Ruby W, Oana G, Jennifer S and Sienna S.

In the last two weeks Hilda T and Rebecca W have been awarded the most points. Well done for showing great commitment since returning to school.

Remember it’s not just in lessons you can gain points – This week Mr Reeves has been on the look out at lunchtime for students taking responsibility and looking after the school environment. Keep showing us the school values of respect, responsibility and resilience to see those points adding up.

Uniform and Shoes

Due to non-essential shops being shut, including uniform shops, we have taken a somewhat relaxed view and made exceptions where families really can’t replace uniform and shoes over the last few weeks. As I have previously shared, with shops re-opening over Easter, including shoe shops and our uniform suppliers, all students will be expected to return in full school uniform from our first day back on Tuesday 20^th April. This includes wearing their usual formal black leather polishable shoes.

If students are not wearing their full uniform they will be asked to attend the PBSC until it is rectified. If you are having financial issues and are likely to struggle replacing uniform please get in contact with your pastoral year lead in order for us to help.

Year 7 Spotlight!

7H take the Year 7 spotlight this week, and their superstar status is clear with the group having a combined 4489 achievement points, putting them first out of all nine Year 7 tutor groups. Well done 7H!

Mrs Tuckey, the group’s Geography teacher has a had a fantastic time with 7H during their study on Africa, but was particularly impressed by Nicole’s incredible, persuasive piece of work encouraging her to travel to Tunisia.

Meanwhile, Mr Mirza has found in PSHE that Lucy, Daniel M, Annabelle and Rebecca have become his stand out students for amazing answers, contributions and quality of classwork.

Mr Pope, 7H’s tutor was also exceptionally impressed with Koda’s entry for the Year 7 History model building competition. A really phenomenal level of effort, care and consideration has gone into this wonderful piece of work. Well done Koda! 

A huge congratulations to 7H for their continued work towards our core values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility; and as there will be no spotlight next week we hope the whole group and the rest of Year 7 have a wonderful Easter holiday.
